Album Notes & Community Reviews
Despite a troubled production history marked by the firing and subsequent suicide of primary songwriter Doug Hopkins, this breakthrough album became a massive multi-platinum success. The pristine jangle-pop guitars and soaring, bittersweet melodies provided a radio-friendly, heartland-rock alternative to the heavier grunge dominating the contemporary charts.
