Motore immobile

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by frequent collaborator Franco Battiato, this obscure Italian release is a defining text of European acoustic minimalism. The former violin virtuoso constructs profound, sustained drones utilizing primarily organ, violin, and deeply resonant vocal textures. The exceptionally sparse, glacial pacing of the compositions draws heavy comparisons to the drone works of La Monte Young and Terry Riley.
