Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled by Jimmy Webb's magnificent, existential title track, this album became a colossal crossover phenomenon and definitively established the 'countrypolitan' sound. The legendary session guitarist masterfully applied lush orchestration and immaculate pop sensibilities to traditional country forms, blurring genre lines and setting a new standard for sophisticated mainstream music.
