Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from the heavy metal of Deep Purple, bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes completely indulges his love for funk and blue-eyed soul on his solo debut. 'Play Me Out' is steeped in deep grooves, smooth brass sections, and Hughes' remarkably agile, Stevie Wonder-influenced vocal acrobatics. It is a passionate, unexpectedly mellow departure from his hard rock pedigree.
