Album Notes & Community Reviews

The second and final LP by the twin-led Goldring brothers' project is highly unusual for its era, largely omitting keyboards in favor of a dense, interwoven woodwind section. The intricate arrangements of saxophones, flutes, and recorders give the music an eccentric, almost medieval jazz flavor, contrasting sharply with the dominant symphonic trends. Despite its commercial failure, it has been retrospectively recognized as a unique and daring masterwork of British prog.
