The Go-Go's wrote much of 'Vacation' collectively, with Belinda Carlisle's vocals fronting jangly guitars and driving rhythms. The album expands the new wave energy of their debut into upbeat power-pop territory. Tracks such as the title song and 'Head Over Heels' further embedded the group in the early 1980s pop-rock landscape.
