A Santa Compaña

Hailing from Galicia in northwestern Spain, the quartet infused their sophisticated new wave sound with rich regional folklore and dark, literary lyricism. The virtuosic fretless bass work and Germán Coppini's theatrical, highly emotive vocals set them apart from the more straightforward punk acts of the Movida era. It is widely celebrated as one of the most musically accomplished and distinctly Spanish albums of the 1980s.
