Plays the Music of Jerome Kern

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Applying his signature lush, sweeping orchestrations to the elegant compositions of Jerome Kern, Gordon Jenkins delivers a highly polished instrumental tribute. The album relies heavily on massed strings and gentle, wafting tempos, perfectly translating the Broadway melodies into unobtrusive domestic mood music. It is a quintessential, beautifully engineered artifact of the 1950s easy listening phenomenon.
