Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Brand Nubian frontman returns with his highly anticipated sophomore solo effort, seamlessly blending his signature Five-Percenter lyricism with incredibly smooth, jazz-inflected boom-bap production. '2000' relies heavily on infectious, sample-driven grooves and Puba's uniquely relaxed, highly rhythmic vocal delivery, culminating in the breakout hit 'I Like It (I Wanna Be Where You Are)'. It perfectly encapsulates the highly soulful, East Coast jazz-rap aesthetic of the mid-1990s.
