Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking his triumphant return to recording after a brief hiatus, the legendary jazz guitarist fully embraced the emerging jazz-funk movement on this pivotal release. Backed by an aggressive rhythm section and the electric piano of Clarence Palmer, the sessions are defined by heavily syncopated grooves and extended, bluesy vamps. The highly accessible, danceable sound alienated jazz purists but effectively reinvented the artist for a new decade.
