Released following the highly publicized dissolution of Hüsker Dü, Grant Hart's solo debut is a poignant, deeply melodic reflection on addiction and personal fallout. He performed almost all of the instrumentation himself, trading the ferocious punk velocity of his former band for textured jangle-pop and somber, organ-driven folk rock. The record is celebrated as a highly intimate, redemptive artistic statement.
