Marking their first studio effort after the dissolution of their independent label, 'Terrapin Station' features an uncharacteristically polished and heavily produced sound courtesy of Keith Olsen. The album is anchored by its sprawling side-long title suite, which incorporates orchestral and choral overdubs rarely seen in the band's catalog. This ambitious project represented a conscious shift towards a more commercial, progressive rock-oriented aesthetic.
