Album Notes & Community Reviews

As the inaugural release on their own independent imprint, the sessions marked the group's transition following the tragic passing of founding keyboardist Ron 'Pigpen' McKernan. The inclusion of Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux, alongside prominent horn arrangements, steered the band toward a mellower, jazz-inflected studio polish.
