Album Notes & Community Reviews
Radically turning away from their sprawling, acid-soaked jam band improvisations, the Grateful Dead embraced beautifully structured, harmony-driven Americana. 'Workingman's Dead' is wonderfully mellow and deeply pastoral, utilizing incredibly warm, fiercely melodic folk-rock to deliver highly philosophical, slightly psychedelic tales of working-class struggle and bittersweet survival.
