Album Notes & Community Reviews
As the commercial viability of 80s arena rock rapidly disintegrated, the Los Angeles quintet leaned heavily into their blues-rock foundation for their fifth studio effort. 'Psycho City' features gritty, swaggering guitar riffs and Jack Russell's powerful, soulful vocal deliveries, largely avoiding the polished pop-metal hooks of their multi-platinum era. Though critically regarded as a mature return to form, the album struggled severely on the commercial charts.
