Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pivoting slightly away from the dense psychedelia of the Paisley Underground, Green on Red embraced a highly melodic, Neil Young-indebted brand of American roots rock. 'Gas Food Lodging' pairs chiming acoustic guitars and deeply melancholic Hammond organ lines with introspective tales of rural desperation and drifters. It is a profoundly bittersweet, meditative classic of the 80s alt-country and college rock scenes.
