Treason

The final 1970s release from the historically influenced British group sees them pivoting noticeably away from their trademark medieval and renaissance folk instrumentations toward a more standardized, AOR-friendly progressive rock sound. While still retaining complex time signatures and whimsical arrangements, the prominent inclusion of synthesizers and shorter song structures aimed directly for commercial viability. The album struggled to find a market, leading to the group's disbandment shortly after.
