Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as an immediate, worthy follow-up to his legendary debut, this LP solidifies the Texas native as a premier storytelling voice within the outlaw country movement. Backed by a phenomenal ensemble featuring Waylon Jennings and Emmylou Harris, the laid-back production perfectly highlights his wry, deeply poetic character studies. It is an essential, highly respected entry in the 1970s singer-songwriter canon.
