Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Utopia', Gwenno shifts her thematic focus from heritage and memory to a more personal reflection on her own life's journey, with a majority of the lyrics in English. The album offers a lush and cinematic soundscape, moving from the dreamy, motorik psych-pop of the title track to the sprightly indie grooves of 'Dancing on Volcanoes'. Composed primarily on piano, the record feels organic and warm, capturing a sense of self-discovery through rich textures and compelling, widescreen arrangements that feel both intimate and expansive.
