Album Notes & Community Reviews

Drawing heavy aesthetic and musical inspiration from the 1980s, 'Affinity' infuses Haken's signature progressive metal with prominent synthpop and arena rock textures. The album balances dizzying instrumental complexity with soaring, anthemic choruses and retro-futuristic soundscapes. This conceptual pivot allowed the band to expand their sonic palette while retaining the heavy, rhythmic intricacies their fanbase expects.
