Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released when she was only 18 years old, Hako Yamasaki's debut is a devastatingly bleak, highly emotive masterpiece of Japanese folk-pop. Her uniquely expressive, vibrato-heavy vocal style perfectly conveys the profound loneliness and heartbreak of her poetic lyricism, bridging contemporary singer-songwriter traditions with the dramatic melancholy of traditional enka.
