Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Modern Gymnastics' is a frenetic, deeply eccentric milestone of the Japanese new wave and Zolo movements. Led by Kenzo Saeki, Halmens utilized jerky synthesizer arrangements, frantic tempos, and avant-garde pop structures that would heavily influence the Tokyo underground scene. The project notably featured early vocal contributions from future experimental pop icon Jun Togawa.
