Les cinq saisons
by Harmonium
Built on a concept of the four seasons plus an imaginary fifth, 'Les cinq saisons' saw the band transition from folk-rock to a distinctive progressive folk sound, weaving complex, layered arrangements with both traditional and electronic instruments. The self-produced album, notably recorded without drums, blends acoustic guitars, flutes, and accordion with Mellotron and synthesizers, creating a rich sonic tapestry for lyrics that occasionally touch on Québécois separatism and securing its place as a cornerstone of the genre in Canada.
