Album Notes & Community Reviews

Struggling to follow up their massive alt-rock radio hit, the Seattle quartet delivered a critically praised but commercially overlooked sophomore effort. 'King James Version' vastly expands their power-pop sound with intricate song structures and Sean Nelson's biting, hyper-literate lyrical cynicism regarding the music industry and modern isolation. The album's commercial failure ultimately led to the band's temporary hiatus.
