Presented as a direct continuation of 2023's 'Rat Wars', 'Conflict DLC' expands on the band's industrial metal and electronic sound with what the members described as a more uptempo, aggressive, and desperate character. [2] While retaining producer Stint, the band enlisted mixer Drew Fulk to achieve a heavier, more concussive sound that blends pummelling industrial rock with pulsating electronics and moments of darkwave. [2, 3, 6] Thematically, the album explores existential despair, anger, and the anxieties of a hyper-digital culture, balancing its bleak lyrical content with cathartic, high-energy arrangements.
