Album Notes & Community Reviews
The three works map Lachenmann's earliest instrumental theatre: 'Guero' treats the piano as a percussion instrument to be scraped and struck, 'Pression' draws its sounds from a cello under extreme bow pressure, and 'Gran Torso' subjects the string quartet to the extended techniques that made his name. Together they defined musique concr猫te instrumentale at the start of the 1970s.
