Avant-garde saxophonist Colin Stetson entirely reimagines Henryk Górecki's legendary 'Symphony of Sorrowful Songs', transcribing the sweeping orchestral arrangements for a modern rock ensemble. The recording utilizes distorted electric guitars, heavy drum kits, and Stetson's signature bass saxophone to violently update the 1976 classic. Featuring his sister Megan Stetson handling the iconic soprano vocals, it is a staggering, physically overwhelming tribute.
