Album Notes & Community Reviews

An absolute commercial juggernaut, 'Going Places' solidified the distinctive 'Ameriachi' sound that dominated 1960s easy listening radio. Herb Alpert leads his ensemble through relentlessly upbeat, mariachi-flavored instrumental pop covers, resulting in massive crossover hits like 'Spanish Flea' and 'Tijuana Taxi'. It remains one of the most culturally ubiquitous and recognizable instrumental pop records of the decade.
