Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring fluid alto saxophone lines embedded in relaxed, sunny arrangements, the session epitomizes the structural hallmarks of West Coast jazz. The interplay between the rhythm section and the leader remains airy and contrapuntal, avoiding the aggressive attacks of East Coast bop. The recording provides an excellent example of highly melodic, cerebral mid-fifties studio craftsmanship.
