Flute Soufflé

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the rising prominence of the flute within modern jazz, this uniquely arranged session places two masters of the instrument in direct, highly melodic dialogue. The breezy, exceptionally fluid interplay bridges the gap between relaxed West Coast cool and the sophisticated harmonic structures of the bop idiom. The beautifully captured, airy acoustic texture makes this a standout date within the late-1950s Prestige catalog.
