Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded immediately following his deeply influential trip to Brazil, 'Right Now' features flautist Herbie Mann fusing authentic South American percussion with the heavy, blues-driven aesthetic of Soul Jazz. The album avoids the gentle romanticism of Bossa Nova in favor of highly aggressive, relentlessly grooving Samba rhythms. It stands out as one of the most vital, rhythmically explosive cross-cultural jazz dates of the period.
