Album Notes & Community Reviews

Doug Scharin's HiM, assembled from the drummer's June of 44 and Chicago post-rock circle, recorded 'Our Point of Departure' in Washington, DC with Fred Erskine, Sean Meadows, Carlo Cennamo and Jon Theodore, and Scharin then cut and spliced the sessions in Chicago. Its six tracks of jazz fusion build percussion-laden grooves from electric bass, guitar, saxophone and layered drums, in the studio-as-instrument method associated with Teo Macero's electric Miles Davis productions.
