Hirocosmos

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The formidable Japanese keyboardist and early synthesizer pioneer crafted a brilliant, highly intricate masterpiece of cosmic jazz-rock fusion. Backed by elite session musicians, the instrumental compositions are dominated by Yanagida's dizzying Moog synthesizer solos, electric piano vamps, and a deeply syncopated, funk-inflected rhythm section. The album stands as a phenomenally recorded, highly progressive highlight of the 1970s Japanese electric jazz scene.
