Rock Joint Cither ~ Kumikyoku Silk Road ~

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The visionary Japanese keyboardist and arranger directed this highly experimental, profoundly psychedelic fusion project centered around the sitar. The album perfectly synthesizes heavy, groove-oriented jazz-rock rhythms with traditional Indian melodic structures and extensive, fuzzed-out improvisation. It is a stunning, deeply hypnotic document of the boundary-pushing cross-cultural experimentation occurring within the 1970s Japanese underground.
