Album Notes & Community Reviews

Revisiting his own legendary songbook, the iconic American composer pairs his famously folksy, highly informal vocal delivery with incredibly sophisticated modern jazz arrangements by Johnny Mandel. Featuring brilliant, deeply sympathetic solos from West Coast stalwarts like Art Pepper, the session manages to completely revitalize familiar standards like 'Stardust' and 'Georgia on My Mind'. The remarkably charming, deeply nostalgic project serves as a flawless late-career triumph for the Tin Pan Alley titan.
