Album Notes & Community Reviews
Signaling a major comeback for the bebop trumpet pioneer after personal struggles, 'Maggie's Back in Town' finds Howard McGhee playing with revitalized fire and stunning clarity. Backed by a flawless West Coast rhythm section including Phineas Newborn Jr. and Shelly Manne, McGhee updates his fleet-fingered style to match the era's hard bop muscle.
