Album Notes & Community Reviews

In a continued, highly controversial effort to modernize his sound, Chess Records paired the legendary Chicago bluesman with fuzz-heavy acid rock and funk arrangements[cite: 1]. 'Message to the Young' features Howlin' Wolf's imposing, gravelly vocals attempting to cut through dense, contemporary studio production[cite: 1]. Much like his previous 'electric' album, it alienated blues purists but remains a fascinating, aggressive artifact of cross-generational musical experimentation[cite: 1].
