Album Notes & Community Reviews

Making the controversial leap to a major label, H眉sker D眉 slowed their hardcore tempos to fully embrace the dense, melodic power-pop hooks that had always lurked beneath their noise. The album is a profoundly sentimental, acoustic-tinged exploration of heartbreak and deep melancholia, driven by the fiercely competitive, brilliant songwriting of Bob Mould and Grant Hart. 'Candy Apple Grey' is a crucial, bittersweet milestone in the invention of alternative rock.
