Album Notes & Community Reviews

Named for Gordon Lightfoot's iconic title track, which they famously popularized, 'Early Morning Rain' finds the Canadian duo Ian & Sylvia hitting an absolute creative peak. The album flawlessly blends traditional Appalachian and folk material with emerging contemporary songwriting, characterized by their striking, piercing vocal harmonies. It heavily influenced the emerging country-rock sound that would dominate the latter half of the decade.
