Album Notes & Community Reviews

Ideal's 'Der Ernst des Lebens' followed their breakthrough as one of the defining German-language new wave groups of the Neue Deutsche Welle period. The album sharpens the band's angular pop instincts with cold rhythmic drive and Annette Humpe's distinctive vocal presence.
