Ultra Mono

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Bristol outfit leans fully into their most confrontational and abrasive tendencies, utilizing hip-hop producer Kenny Beats to achieve a massive, blown-out drum sound. Thematically, it doubles down on frontman Joe Talbot's direct, slogan-heavy lyricism, tackling toxic masculinity, class war, and self-acceptance with a bludgeoning lack of subtlety. While polarizing among critics, it marked their first UK number-one album.
