Album Notes & Community Reviews
Inspired by the classic woodblock prints of Yoshitoshi, the Japanese avant-garde percussionist utilizes drum machines and delicate electronics to craft an evocative suite. 'One Hundred Aspects of the Moon' features a chamber ensemble including John Zorn and Anthony Coleman interpreting Mori's complex, highly abstract compositions. The release is a prime example of the challenging, cross-cultural avant-garde championed by the Tzadik label.
