Acts of God

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Acts of God' reinforces Immolation's definitive style through Robert Vigna's serpentine and dissonant guitar riffs, which create a churning, ominous atmosphere over Steve Shalaty's complex and grooving drum patterns. The album's clean but weighty production, handled by Paul Orofino and Zack Ohren, brings clarity to the layered instrumentation and Ross Dolan's deep growl without sacrificing any of its primal heft. This sonic assault provides the backdrop for a lyrical return to anti-religious themes, focusing on the corrupting influence of organized institutions and humanity's darker nature.
