Album Notes & Community Reviews

Breaking a six-year recording silence, the death metal pioneers returned with one of the most oppressive and acclaimed records of their latter-era career. Thematically focused on the historical atrocities of the Catholic Church, the production emphasizes the group's trademark cavernous, suffocating doom passages interspersed with violent blast-beat assaults. It violently reaffirmed their status as unquestioned masters of the subterranean, murky New York death metal sound.
