Aaron Marshall reasserts total creative control over the project, returning to the purely instrumental, highly technical rock format of his early releases. 'The Shape of Colour' deliberately moves away from the aggressive dissonance of modern djent, opting instead for incredibly bright, joyful, and deeply melodic guitar solos. This playful approach yields an exceptionally uplifting and technically dazzling instrumental record.
