Album Notes & Community Reviews

Written in the immediate aftermath of a severe relationship collapse, Nick Thorburn strips away the chaotic, sprawling eccentricities of his band's earlier catalog. The album is incredibly intimate and somber, relying heavily on stark piano arrangements, vintage soul influences, and painfully direct, confessional lyricism. It functions as a deeply moving, highly mature departure into classic, melancholic Brill Building-style pop songwriting.
