Album Notes & Community Reviews

The notoriously loose and improvisational collective, led by Tom Greenwood, reigns in their typical chaotic noise for a remarkably cohesive exploration of traditional American roots music. By reconstructing standard folk and gospel numbers through a haze of psychedelic drone and jazz-inflected instrumentation, the record operates at the forefront of the New Weird America movement.
