Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded secretly while he was suffering from terminal cancer in Polynesia, Jacques Brel's final studio album is a tremendously moving, profoundly poetic farewell. 'Les Marquises' balances his devastating, deeply sombre reflections on approaching death with remarkably lush orchestration and beautifully bittersweet, surprisingly playful vocal performances.
