Orphée aux Enfers

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Brilliantly capturing the effervescent, satirical energy of 19th-century French operetta, this recording resurrects Offenbach's famed mythological parody. The performance expertly navigates the galloping, frenetic pacing of the composer's orchestrations—including the iconic 'Galop infernal'—with a perfectly balanced mix of classical discipline and theatrical comedy.
