The third in a legendary series of four highly experimental, instrumental albums released on Island Records. Conceptually based on the legacy of Paul Klee and the historical use of kites in ancient China, the group flawlessly weaves Eastern acoustic instrumentation with ethereal rock arrangements and jazz-fusion dynamics. It is widely considered a highly atmospheric masterpiece of cross-cultural avant-prog.
